Public Engagement

The Public Engagement activity takes place in the following initiatives:

1) Participation in advisory boards, consultation tables or policymakers, etc.
The department members have been involved in various capacities in local, regional, and international initiatives to define best practices, guidelines, or guidelines.
They also participated in international advisory boards for economic-statistical analysis (such as Understanding Society and Eurostat) or the protection of markets (such as the European Securities Market Authority).

2) Organization of events and participation in initiatives organized by third parties
The various skills present in the Department are suitable for accompanying a non-expert public to interpret new socio-economic trends, opportunities, and the necessary adjustments dictated by legislative changes and disseminate scientific knowledge to a crowd that is not purely academic. To this end, various meetings were organized on the issues of economics, finance, businesses (public and private, for profit and non-profit) to identify new trends, opportunities, and challenges of a society that is always on the move.
The members of the Department also participated, as speakers, in various initiatives organized by other public or private bodies.
As part of the Open day, information events were organized on the typical business, economics, and mathematical-statistical sciences to bring an audience of non-experts closer to current issues.

3) Dissemination publications on the topics of economics and finance
In addition to what is specified in the previous point, some publications have been produced for dissemination purposes aimed at financial education and/or information on good practices of sustainable citizenship.

4) Citizenship support initiatives
By participating in projects funded by foundations or local government bodies, the Department has supported civil society organizations in implementing projects related to solidarity economy, critical consumption, and sustainable citizenship.
