The conference aims to bring together experts to present and discuss new research that bridges the mathematical, methodological, and applied aspects of economics. The second edition of BWES concentrates on Salience, a new successful economic theory that introduces psychological aspects to many disciplines of economic theory but is almost unexplored in terms of its econometric identification and links to the Bayesian approach to Probability and Statistics. On September 7-8, 2023, it will be conducted at the University of Bergamo. The BWES is intended to be a live event. If travel restrictions exist at the time of the conference, it will be possible for lecturers to partake online. The conference solicits (but is not restricted to) papers on the following topics:

• Expectation formation, updating, and measurement.
• Identification strategy of salience/expectation/beliefs formation.
• Cognitive and judgmental aspects in economic theory and econometric
forecasting.
• Algorithms for analytic and automated learning.
• Memory: micro-foundation, modelling and statistical treatment.
• Robust Bayesian (parametric and nonparametric) estimation and inference.

Papers by PhD students or junior researchers are particularly welcome. The following Keynote Speakers have confirmed their participation:
• Monica Billio (Ca’ Foscari University of Venice)
• Pedro Bordalo (Said Business School, University of Oxford)
• Ivana Komunjer (Washighton University)
• Antonio Lijoi (Bocconi University)

Authors can upload their submission by sending an e-mail to bwes2023@unibg.it. The registration is subject to a 50 EUR fee and should be paid via the following address (go to "Voluntary Payment"; at item "Payment Reason", write "BWES2023").

Travel and staying expenses are in charge of the participants. For further inquiries, visit the webpage.
